How do I know if my order has been received and processed?

We have received your order once you have received a thank you notice which displays a confirming order ID number. You should receive this page once you have clicked on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the Online Order Form.

Orders received prior to 12 noon EST Monday through Friday are processed that day. Orders received after that time are generally processed the following business day. Once an order has shipped, we send a confirmation email which includes a UPS or USPS tracking number for that order. If we receive an order for an item that is temporarily out of stock, we will send an email notification within the next three business days regarding the status of the backorder.

Why am I being charged tax?

Toolsforless is owned and operated by Valley National Gases LLC which has retail stores in many states. Valley National Gases is required to charge all applicable state and local sales tax on order shipped to states where we have a physical presence which includes stores, distribution centers and production plants. Some taxing authorities also require the taxable amount to include shipping charges, while others charge sales tax only on merchandise. We are required to follow the rules of each state. No sales tax is charged when buying gift certificates. Please visit this page for a current listing of states with Valley locations.

Do you have a catalog?

Our catalog is our online store. We have not been able to find a cost effective way to publish a printed catalog with an ever changing inventory with over 50,000 items in stock. We are continuously adding items to the website, so check back often for updates or send us an email regarding any specific item you cannot locate.

Does your e-store contain all your inventory?

No. We carry approximately 50,000 items in stock within our Northeastern retail stores. We continue to add items to the e-store as quickly as possible, but we have many products in stock at any given time which may not appear on the website. If you are looking for a specific item that you cannot find, please drop us an email at customerservice@toolsforless.com and we will be happy to email you back with availability and pricing.

How much do you charge for shipping and handling?

We do not charge handling for any orders. Our e-store is linked directly to UPS and USPS to get the latest rate information and to offer you all of the services available in your area for each carrier. Once you have placed any item(s) into your shopping cart, you can proceed to the checkout area and view rate information supplied direct from UPS and USPS based on your zip code and the weight of your items. You are in no way committed to placing an order at that point.

Can you ship to PO Boxes?

Yes. Our online store is configured for UPS and USPS deliveries. USPS delivers to Post Office Boxes, but UPS does not.

Can you ship internationally?

Generally speaking, no. At this time our online store is configured to process UPS and USPS orders only within the 50 United States. However, USPS is able to ship to overseas military "APO" and "FPO" addresses.

Are there any other shipping restrictions?

Yes. USPS is unable to handle orders containing individual items weighing over 70 lbs.

Are your tools new or used?

We sell new & reconditioned tools. Unless otherwise marked, all advertised tools are new. Tools sold as reconditioned are clearly marked on cartons and on our site. One quick way to know if the item you are ordering is reconditioned, is if the part number has "RC" at the end. We do not use catch phrases such as 'previously owned' or employ other deceiving tactics. We do not resell equipment that has not been put through a reconditioning program sponsored by the manufacturer.

Why do you put "Brand New" in the descriptions of the tools you sell?

We've found some sites selling reconditioned or warehouse overstock tools and making it hard for the customer to find out. So we use the phrase "Brand New" to identify tools that have come straight from the manufacturer and have not been part of a recall or defective return. Similarly, you'll notice that we describe all of our reconditioned tools with the phrase "Factory Reconditioned"

Why has my new tool been opened?

New tools may arrive in a box that has been previously opened. We record the serial numbers of each tool for warranty purposes and for your protection should one of your tools be stolen. If the serial number is not clearly marked on the box, we do open it. We currently have 9 retail stores from which we distribute and also sell merchandise. When Toolsforless sells the last of a product out of the store, sometimes this product has been on display. Our display items are not used and remain in brand new condition.
